Yoel Kebreab

Lead Coach/Trainer

Yoel Kebreab is a former U Sports athlete who dedicated four years to competing at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). Throughout his career, he played a key role in the team’s success, helping the Rams finish 2nd in OUA East three times and 1st in OUA Central once during the regular season. In the postseason, the team reached the OUA Semifinals twice and the OUA Championship once.

In his rookie season, Yoel made his OUA debut on September 15, 2018, against RMC, where he registered two saves and secured his first clean sheet in a 3-0 victory. This strong start foreshadowed a promising career ahead.

The 2022-23 season, Yoel’s senior year, marked a historic chapter for the program. The team finished as runners-up in the OUA playoffs and qualified for the 2022 U Sports National Championship tournament for only the second time in team history. In a landmark victory against the St. Francis Xavier X-Men, the Rams secured their first-ever win at the U Sports national championship. TMU went on to finish fifth in the country with back-to-back wins at nationals, capping off a memorable season.
