Lead Coach/Trainer

Kussai Salman is a former U Sports athlete who competed for two years at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). He joined the Ryerson Rams in 2017, quickly making his mark as a freshman. Kussai emerged as the team's top-scoring freshman during the latter half of the season, netting his first OUA goal against RMC on October 1. He finished the season with four goals and contributed to the team’s success by appearing in all four OUA playoff games, helping the Rams secure the OUA Bronze Medal.

The 2018-19 season marked significant growth in Kussai's career. He played in 13 games, scoring three goals and providing two assists. One of his standout performances came on August 26, 2018, when he scored two goals and assisted another in a commanding 12-0 victory over Trent, marking his first career three-point outing. That season, the team finished 2nd in the OUA East and advanced to the OUA Semifinals.

After transitioning from player to coach, Kussai has continued to nurture his passion for the game. He served as an assistant coach with TMU, where he shared his insights with aspiring athletes, and further expanded his coaching experience with Darby FC in League 1. Currently, as the U13 OPDL Boys lead coach with Whitby FC, Kussai is dedicated to developing young talent and instilling a love for soccer in the next generation.

Kussai is now the Assistant Coach for the Queen’s Men’s Soccer team, where he continues to contribute to the sport and inspire future players.
