Chris Castillo

Chris Castillo is a former U Sports athlete who competed for three years at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University). In 2018, he took a significant step in his soccer journey by joining the Ryerson Rams, where he quickly made his mark. Castillo scored his first OUA goal on October 10, 2018, in a 3-0 victory against UOIT, marking a milestone in his impressive college career. That same year, he was named one of Ryerson’s Stars of the Week on October 15, 2018, a recognition of his growing reputation within the team. Castillo finished his rookie season with one goal and three assists.
Throughout his three years at Ryerson, Castillo’s resilience and commitment played a key role in the Rams' success. The team finished 2nd in OUA East twice and 1st in OUA Central once during the regular season. In the postseason, he helped the Rams reach the OUA Semifinals twice, contributing to the team's strong performances year after year.
Before his university career, Castillo trained and competed with the Toronto FC organization, playing with TFC III and the TFC Academy. His talent quickly caught the attention of Ontario Soccer scouts, earning him a spot on Team Ontario. Additionally, he trained with Canada's U15 and U17 national teams, gaining invaluable experience and preparing for high-stakes international tournaments.
